In low and middle class where income is particularly not that good, the women entrepreneurs makes a very good contribution to the development of the economy of those part of the world. In the year 2007 the Global entrepreneurship monitor was reported that women and entrepreneurship is the fourth in a series of reports that were undertaken to give a thorough study of the duty of women those who are involved in the entrepreneurial activities throughout the world economy.
The gender differences that effect the Global entrepreneurship movement
The global entrepreneurship movement is effective by gender in regards to participation rate and the stage of entrepreneurship. There are vast differences in countries across the world in context of entrepreneurial activity but those counties that have the same level of per capita GDP have the same pattern of entrepreneurial activities. The GDP is an import aspect of global entrepreneurship movement and the other important factors are regional and cultural differences in the activities of entrepreneurship. In a year there was a division of countries into two low or middle income groups and one high income group. For more detailed information the GEM Magazine will be helpful. The Global entrepreneurship movement made this division based on the per capita gross domestic product (GDP) and also the Global region. Considering the low or middle income countries, they have modest per capita income on average. They also have faster growth in economies compared to those high income countries. The average GDP of low or middle income countries are 10407 dollars and the average increase in the GDP level is 5 to 6 percent. There are eleven countries that fall under the Europe and Asia low or Middle income country group and they are China, Croatia, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Thailand and Turkey. The Latin America and Caribbean low or middle income group consist of countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. The high income countries have an average GDP of 35000 dollars and the growth rate is from 3 to 4 percent. The high income countries comprises of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States and United Kingdom. The entrepreneurial activities of women are high in both the low or middle income countries and also in the high income countries.
Women activities in the Global entrepreneurship movement
It may seem that the in entrepreneurial activities, men are more likely to be more involved when compared to that of the women. But study shows some interesting diversions in this context. In countries like Japan, Thailand, Peru and Brazil women are equally participating in entrepreneurial activities even there are certain instances where the women have done more entrepreneurial activities than the women. Such wide spread participation of women in Global entrepreneurship movement is very much appreciated. Women of these days are not living under the shadow of men anymore. They are very much appreciated in the GEM.
